Hotels are not permitted to run private complimentary transfer buses to the airport terminals. Instead, a fleet of 'Hoppa Buses? regulated by the airport authority run on fixed routes, each serving 2 or 3 hotels. Standard fare for all hotels: ?4 per person and ?0.50 for children.
Hotel Hoppa bus services run to Terminals 1, 2, 3 and Terminal 5 in separate services.
For going from terminal 4 to Central (Terminal 1, 2, 3), you can take the Heathrow Connect train for free. Heathrow connecting trains run every 15 minutes linking Central and Terminal 4.

At Heathrow, it's worth recollecting the room rate you pay. It may appear inconsequential with all the extras you may rack up. However, in the case of expensive hotels, it may end up very different when you factor in these extras.
Adjacent to the northern side of the airport is the Bath Road, a main hotel strip and overall, the best place to stay. These hotels are actually close by to the central passenger terminals. This is a place where you can enjoy food, drink and entertainment without hurting your budget.

There's a little supermarket and an Italian restaurant next to the Park Inn and a pub doing steaks and everything contrary to its name. McDonalds is located next to the Radisson. There are numerous red London buses running past these hotels, some routes running a 24x7 service into the nearest towns where much greater choice is available.
By the intersection of the airport motorway are clusters of isolated hotels. If you wish to get away from the hotel, it takes a bit of an effort. These are the Novotel, Holiday Inn (at the M4 Junction) Premier Inn (M4 Junction) and Crown Plaza.
On the other hand, if you want to go to Central London, you just have to go to Hatton Cross underground station with Central London only 40 minutes away. You can also use Terminal 4; a cab for two nonstop to T4 charges almost the same fare as the Hoppa Bus.
West of the airport, strung along the Bath Road, are the Sheraton, Thistle, Marriott Slough & Windsor and Quality Inn. A ten minutes walk will bring you to the pubs and restaurants of Longford or Langley. There's also a bus service (temporarily inoperative) to all these hotels that runs to Windsor every 30 minutes, one hour on Sundays. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the castle.

The low-cost rates are exactly that; locate a similar airport hotel for much less within seven days of reservation. To ensure there is no risk for these low rates, you have to pay for your booking in advance. A management fee will be collected once you cancel your booking.
